EXTRACTION @NetflixSA #Movie #Action #Thriller

Hi Friends,

Extraction is an action thriller movie launched on Netflix on 24th April 2020 and is directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo whose graphic novel named Ciudad the movie is based upon. The movie is going to keep you on the edge of your seats because it's a high-level action drama and loud bullet noises. This will remind you of the John Wick series of killing throughout the movie with a twist of using a teenager instead of a dog whom the main character Tyler Rake played by our "Thor" Chris Hemsworth. Sam Hargrave also played one of the roles in the movie as Gaetan who is a partner of Tyler. Tyler is a black ops mercenary whose team gets paid to bring back the kid who gets kidnapped from Mumbai and taken to Bangladesh.

Pankaj Tripathi plays a 15 seconds scene as the father of the teenager who gets kidnapped by the Bangladeshi Crime Lord named Amir Asif played by Priyanshu Painyuli and the teenager Ovi Mahajan is played by Rudhraksh Jaiswal. It really felt good to see Pankaj's talent being noticed by the visionary directors of the Avengers: Endgame. Randeep Hooda also plays as Mahajan's henchmen Saju Rav also trying to save the kid in his own way without paying the second installment of money and taking the mercenaries out by himself. Golshifteh Farahani plays Nik Khan, the mercenary Boss who contracts the assignment for her team and also hires Tyler to run the extraction for money.

The action is endless and the killing continues from the start to the end with some scenes in between calmness without any loud gunshots. The story is about the run and chase to reach the extraction point hence the name of the movie. Some of the Bollywood songs from the 1990s are being played in the background during one of the chase sequences and the makeup of Amir's girlfriends is over the top for showcasing India and Bangladesh in general. The movie builds up your interest but then you feel why all this killing and how can a National military and forces are going to let their people die just to fulfill the commands of a goon. The overall story doesn't offer anything new you have not seen in any of the movies and it feels like a copy-paste from the John Wick kind of series with directors and actors from the Avengers series and integrating Indian fans too to get more audiences for Netflix India and other countries. But I still feel John Wick is a much better film and the series offers something mysterious in each of its different chapters. RATING 2/5
