#TheLifesWayReviews SHAKUNTALA DEVI @PrimeVideoIN #Biography #Drama #Movie

Hi Friends,

It's happening now as some of the good movies are getting launched on the digital platforms and you can watch them from the leisure of your homes with whatever you want to drink and eat along with the same. Amazon Prime Video launched one on the life of Shakuntala Devi also known as the human-computer played by Vidya Balan on 31st July 2020. The movie is written and directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment. Vidya Balan has come on the silver screen after Mission Mangal was released in 2019.

Vidya Balan has showcased the life of Shakuntala Devi who was a world-renowned mathematician who could do a lot of mental calculations using Vedic Maths without any school education. Her life's journey from a young girl to a young woman and then falling in love and getting married and becoming a mother and putting her career on hold. Again starting from scratch and the life of the daughter Anupama played by Sanya Malhotra of Dangal fame as a touring kid and teenager along with her mother tells the story of frustrations and sacrifices one has to make when you are famous, mighty and rich.

Jisshu Sengupta plays the husband of Shakuntala Devi as Paritosh Banerji and looks handsome in all his scenes and acted very well and looks charming too. Amit Sadh too plays Anupama's husband Ajay Abhaya Kumar and a small-time is spent on the love story between the two. The movie is really good to watch with the whole family as it gives an insight into the life of Shakuntala Devi whose puzzle books were very popular when I was doing my engineering and later she also started working on astrology and cooking books.

The movie is 127 minutes long and is available on Amazon Prime Video and some of the songs are really peppy as the music director is Sachin-Jigar and the background score is provided by Karan Kulkarni. Biographical films are really close to my heart and I always try to watch if I am unable to read their biography in books or so. Vidya has lived the life of Shakuntala Devi and she has brought the same magic again as she was in Parineeta and various other movies.

It's a story about an ambitious woman who dares to reach the pinnacle of mathematics where women were not given the same level of respect. Then she struggles to leave her love of maths to fall in love and become a mother and once mother tries to direct her daughter as per her wishes or what she thinks will be good for her. She always finds a solution to any problem using her charm and courage and maths. The movie is a must-watch if you are Vidya Balan's fan or if you are a fan of Shakuntala Devi books. RATING 4/5

Cheers!!!
