New Year Resolutions - Week 40 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 40 - Sat 01 Oct 2022 - Fri 07 Oct 2022

October 2022 started with a great trip to Hermanus and it was a relaxing and energetic trip to the small city with all kinds of modern facilities as most European tourists make their way to the same. It is one of the cities where I just got to drive less than 50 kilometres to see tourist sites which made a difference really though I travelled far to Cape Agulhas which I missed in my Garden Route trip due to wrong directions and time not on our side as we had to reach Pearly Beach for overnight stay.

1. Walking - I only did 9.83 kilometres during the course of this week. Thursday morning the road trip to Hermanus started as well. During the trip to Hermanus, I ate something like some Indian chips that were made from Jackfruit but in some kind of oil which really took my throat into a vial fever state. Despite drinking warm water or rather hot water later, I could not control it and had to go down the fever route.

2. Thank You - From 24000 onwards it reach 35000 before the counter again turned to zero. This is going to be the last week of using the counter. Will restart the activity in a new form in the new year. I will definitely recommend you to do this task or fun activity as it will being a lot of good in your life in terms of whatever you desire. I have got many good gifts that I always wanted in my life due to this Thank You Arigato In Arigato Out technique by Ken Honda.

New Year Resolutions - Week 40 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

3. Travel to Hermanus - Driving for around 1425 kilometres needs a lot of planning and resting stops need to be minimized as well. I loved the city of Hermanus when we saw it for an hour or so during our trip from Pearly Beach to Cape Town. That's when I planned to visit the same once again and this time I spent many nights in Hermanus. My Honda Civic 1.8 Elegance car reached there without any problems whatsoever.

4. Contest Win - I won a contest from Incredible Connection for Jabra Earphones that I received when I was outstation. The same will be unboxed in some days on my YouTube channel. I am not able to find out what I wrote on the Facebook page but the day I wrote those words was early in the morning as I was sitting in my mom-dad room and it was a father's day contest. My parents were here in South Africa when I wrote this one and totally found out that this is one of the best words I can write on that day. Thanks!

5. Interviews - I did some interviews with the executives of Vivo Mobile South Africa which you can watch on my YouTube channel to learn more about the latest Vivo V25 series of smartphones. Vivo Smartphones have great cameras and check the executives if you want to visit Qatar 2022 World Cup courtesy of Vivo Mobile South Africa.

Week 40 has been a great one for sure and I totally loved the road trip to Hermanus. Hermanus is a must-visit town or city as it gives the feeling of being in a European city but with the beautiful weather of South Africa. Most of the tourists that visit this town are European and the place is always booked. Also, whale watching is one of the best time pass activities you can enjoy and they also respond to you by coming very near the shore. Also, there is a 10-12 km long walk along the sea and I am sure by walking on the route you will see much more whales as compared to when you are on the ship inside the ocean to see it from a few meters away.

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 39 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 39 - Sat 24 Sep 2022 - Fri 30 Sep 2022

The last week of September 2022 was great in many ways as got to attend a lot of in-person and virtual events and received some money too from the Universe.

1. Daily Walking - I could only do about 11.4 kilometres during the course of this week. This is way below the average 20 kilometres that I need to complete every week but life happens. This being the last week of Sep-22 I could only do 61.42 kilometres which is the lowest amongst all the months till today starting from Jan-22. As this is the end of the third quarter this is the total amount of kilometres done to date - Q1 - 273.87 km; Q2 - 244.07 km; Q3 - 222.52 km. There has been a declining trend from the average of 250 km that needs to be achieved every quarter. Now I have to complete the whole of the remaining 259.54 kilometres in Q4. Good Luck with that Aashish.

2. Thank You - I took the count a little bit forward from 4001 to 24000 during the course of this week. I think I am giving rest to my fingers to press the button on the counter. Also, the counters that I bought from the China Mall are not meant to be used this much. I will have to visit them again to buy more of the counters.

3. Launch Events - I attended Youtube Shorts events for #MadeinMzansi at The Roof in Fourways as well as a virtual event of YT shorts. Then I also attended Oppo Reno 8 launch event at the Inanda Polo Club in Sandton. I also attended Samsung and Mustek experience centres in Midrand. Overall it's great to meet a lot of people during these events.
New Year Resolutions - Week 39 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay
4. Entertainment - The more time went into planning to go on a small vacation at the start of October and didn't focus on watching the web series. Sometimes I like to wait and watch for the reviews to arrive and some series to go viral before watching them first myself. So this is the week where I watched more of YouTube rather than the streaming platforms.

5. YouTube - My YouTube PIN to confirm my address is still pending so that I can get the first payment but unfortunately I have not reached the threshold of USD 100 also so far. I will only be able to achieve it at the end of next month. I am doing my side but viral videos are not coming in my kitty. 1 viral video is needed once a year to make it for you initially. I have not counted how many I did in the month of Sep-22 but maybe I should track the progress to keep me motivated.

Thanks a lot to my readers for reading my journey till the end of the third quarter of 2022. I am grateful that will consistency I could read so many books, do things I wanted to do, didn't do any free blog posts and press releases unless I was invited to their launch events. I didn't receive any random stuff from any brands which I was always hopeful to receive in lieu of my press releases post on my blog but that never came causing me a lot of irritation. Now I am choosing whom to cover and whom not to and upfront I am telling my requirements which leads to the right expectations. No gain no pain is the formula that keeps me sane.

Cheers!!!

New Fujifilm X-T5 Offers Major Features In A Smaller Body @Fujifilmxsa #fujifilmxt5 #myfujifilmsa #fujifilm #10YearsOfXMount

Hi Friends,

The flagship from Fujifilm features a 40.2MP sensor, Pixel Shift, 6.2K video recording and a shutter speed as fast as 1/180000 sec to put photography first. A versatile 30mm Macro lens also coming.

Fujifilm South Africa is pleased to announce the launch of the highly anticipated Fujifilm X-T5, the new flagship in the popular X-T series of mirrorless cameras. The X-T5 joins the recent Fujifilm X-H2 and X-H2S as the top models currently available for the X Mount system.
New Fujifilm X-T5 Offers Major Features In A Smaller Body @Fujifilmxsa #fujifilmxt5 #myfujifilmsa #fujifilm #10YearsOfXMount
There are a number of improvements the X-T5 brings to the table which caters to the diverse needs of photographers and video creators of all abilities. To start, the X-T5 includes the back-illuminated 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, similar to the X-H2. This sensor can capture light more efficiently thanks to the improved pixel structure, while ISO125 is now available as a standard option.

Combined with the latest X-Processor 5 high-speed image processing engine, it allows the X-T5 to manage shutter speeds as fast as 1/180000 sec. This ensures that large-aperture lenses can be used in a greater variety of conditions. Low-light shooters will value the camera's 5-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) of up to 7.0 stops.

More in less
New and old Fujifilm users will appreciate several of the X-T5’s features. Not only does it offer analogue manual controls via the three dials on the top panel (controlling ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation), but the X-T5 returns to a smaller form factor that weighs in at 557g (including battery and memory card), compared to the previous X-T4’s weight of 607g. This makes the X-T5 highly portable and suitable for a range of photographic duties, including street, travel and sports photography/videography.

Photographers are able to compose their photographs either through the excellent high-magnification 3.69-million-dot electronic viewfinder, or the new 1.84-million-dot three-way tilting LCD on the back. This has been redesigned to make it easy to shoot in a vertical position or at waist level.

Other features include the Smooth Skin Effect; Subject Detection AF capable of detecting animals, cars and birds; and AI-based high-precision auto white balance which assists users in producing high-quality photographic images.

Pixel Shift is included and ready for videographers
Importantly, the X-T5 offers Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function (as seen on the X-H2), which quadruples image resolution and produces accurate colour reproduction, making it ideal for commercial photography. The IBIS mechanism is used to shift the image sensor at high precision to carry out the automatic shooting of 20 frames in a single click of the shutter. Using the dedicated Pixel Shift Combiner software, users can process the captured frames to generate an image containing some 160 million pixels.

Videographers should not feel left out since the X-T5 can record 6.2K video internally at 30P in 4:2:2 10-bit colour. The camera also features the 4K HQ mode, which uses 6.2K over-sampling to produce high-quality video, while making the maximum advantage of the high-resolution sensor. Furthermore, the X-T5 supports F-Log2, which records an expanded dynamic range of 13+ stops. This range is wider than the current F-Log, broadening post-production potential.

New Macro Lens too
Also coming to South Africa is the Fujinon XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro lens with a minimum focus distance of only 10cm. This new addition to the line-up of interchangeable XF lenses designed for X Series is a weather-sealed standard prime lens with a focal length of 30mm (equivalent to 46mm in the 35mm film format). Compared to conventional standard lenses, this product has a substantially reduced minimum working distance and greatly improved close-up performance, capable of macro photography at a 1:1 magnification ratio. The lens also uses the Inner Focus system, in which a linear motor drives the focusing group of elements, to deliver fast and highly accurate autofocus.

The highly versatile Fujifilm X-T5 will be available in South Africa during mid-November 2022 for a suggested retail price of R28 899 incl. VAT for the body only. There will be two body+lens kits to purchase: The X-T5 plus 18-55mm lens for R33 199, or the X-T5 plus 16-80mm for R35 199, both incl. VAT.

It's Time To Play...Cosplay @rAgeExpo #rAgeExpo2022 #Cosplay #20yearsofawesome

Hi Friends,

rAge - the really Awesome gaming expo - has announced that the annual rAge GES Cosplay Competition is back. While die-hards will know precisely what this is and how to participate, after a few years of being isolated, rAge is encouraging everyone no matter their age, or level of skill to join in the fun. Cosplay is the perfect hobby to set yourself free and be a real part of an imaginary world.

What is Cosplay?
Cosplay is a term that comes from a combination of the words' costume' and 'play'. It allows people to express their love for fictional characters by dressing up and acting like their favourite film, game, and comic characters.
It's Time To Play...Cosplay @rAgeExpo #rAgeExpo2022 #Cosplay #20yearsofawesome

Cosplay started in America at the 1st World Science Fiction Convention in 1939 but is probably better known for its Japanese sub-culture links. It's a live-action art form that is incredibly fun for those dressing up and for those who get to see the amazing outfits. Over the years, it has increased in popularity among almost all fandoms leading to cosplayer participation at most popular culture conventions. A recent award-winning documentary, “Cosplay Universe” (now available on most digital platforms) digs deep into the many facets of this worldwide phenomenon. It’s not simply playing dress-up; cosplay is art.

Why should you join?
"Over the last decade, cosplay has grown exponentially in South Africa, and around the world. The competition is fierce and some of the costumes are pure works of fantasy art. There’s so much heart and soul in some of the outfits you can’t help but stare in wonder. During 2020, Capetonian cosplayer Ludus Cosplay took Best in Show for his take on Puss in Boots at our rAge Expo Digital Edition. Now we’re excited to announce that the competition is back for 2022. There’s plenty to look forward to, and I can tell you from years of personal experience that nothing beats seeing your favourite fictional characters come to life!" says Michael James, Project Director of rAge.

Jade Bayes, GES Head of Cosplay, commented, "The rAge Expo cosplay scene holds a special place within the local community as it's where many now world-famous South African cosplayers, such as Kinpatsu Cosplay and Jinxie Cosplay, won their first-ever cosplay competition and where many people were first introduced to cosplay. From the days when cosplayers used to hold informal competitions to the massive cosplay competitions of 50-plus entries, cosplay at rAge has gone from strength to strength.

Festive cosplay
"Now, after this long break, we have refined the competition and added a Festive Cosplay Division for the first time where cosplayers can enter outfits such as Ambitious Elf Jinx, or even their festive design or take of a character! We are looking forward to seeing people getting their creative juices flowing again."

The cosplay competition is open to all skill levels, from Novices to Masters; whether it's your first-time cosplaying or if you have been doing it for years, you are welcome. From armour to needlework to fur suits, we accept all cosplays across all ages.

Entries are open and will be closing on 30 November 2022. Entry forms can be found here, and the rule book can be found here.

We look forward to seeing everyone in person again and remember that Cosplay is for Everyone!" concludes Bayes.

BCX Digital Innovation Awards 2022 Announces Top 6 Finalists @BCXworld #BCXDIA #digitalinnovationawards

Hi Friends,

Digital transformation in business has proven to be a driver of socio-economic growth globally. BCX believes that businesses can Invent, Evolve and Unite through digital innovation while creating greater opportunities for growth in South Africa. The BCX Digital Innovation Award (DIA) was first introduced in 2019 to celebrate Small and Medium Enterprise’s (SME’s), and large enterprises who have achieved digital innovation excellence having created solutions that have moved their industries forward and have impacted our society.

"The DIA is in its 4th year, and we have truly seen the creativity and innovation of our local companies over this time. But, more than this, we have seen the commitment of these companies to make a difference to the environments around them by adopting digital innovation", say Mandisa Ntloko-Petersen, BCX Chief Marketing Officer.

Through the DIA, BCX recognises and nurtures digital innovation excellence amongst South African companies, providing them with opportunities to grow further. Today, BCX proudly announces the top six finalists for this year's prestigious Digital Innovation Awards 2022. This year’s BCX Digital Innovation Awards received 42 entries.

Year after year, we have seen how South African companies, both small and large, are embracing digital innovation as a solution that serves both corporate and social interests. I want to congratulate this year’s finalists and wish them the best in the next stage of the awards”, says Mandisa Ntloko-Petersen.

New Year Resolutions - Week 38 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 38 was one of the hectic weeks in terms of launch events and other activities I planned for myself.

Week 38 - Sat 17 Sep 2022 - Fri 23 Sep 2022

1. Thank You - I started from 33322 onwards to reach it till 58000 and the counter accidentally reset to zero. I restarted the same and then reached the 4000 mark by the end of the week. I am feeling more and more pain in my thumb as I am clicking the same multiple times to increase the counter.

2. Daily Walking - I completed around 15.5 kilometres this week and this week also I could not complete the 20kms mark. I reached around 729 kilometres as compared to the total target of 760 kilometres. I am lagging behind by around 31 kilometres and this happened during the past few weeks. Overall for the month of Sep-22, my total kilometres are going to be very less.

3. Launch Events - I attended the launch events of Huawei Nova 10 and also the Vivo V25 Launch event along with the Comic Con 22 invite. I also attended the VMware launch event too during the course of this week. For some of the launch event goodies, I have made videos on my YT channel. During the course of this week, I was invited to 5 events and could only make it to 4 of them.

4. Entertainment - I completed the Dahan: Raakan ka Rahasya web series in a single sitting by binge-watching it on Saturday. It's a nice series for one time watch and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The ending though is not a great one though. I am not able to find any interesting web series for a few weeks now. I kept watching the weekly episodes of The Rings of Power, She-Hulk and Adhura Sach: Criminal Justice. I still have to start watching House of the Dragon in the coming months once season 1 is aired fully and all episodes are available to binge-watch.

5. YouTube - I am continuously creating a lot of YT Shorts and long-form videos for your viewing pleasure. Do check them out and give it a like if you have seen them or comment where I can improve on them. I am now getting double-digit views on my videos as compared to single-digit views. I am sure as my quality and content improve, I will be into three digits views on all my long-form videos.

I have received a lot of goodies which I have shared with my friends and relatives from time to time. I intend to give away everything I don't need to those who value those stuff and it will have a huge impact on their life. Only by being grateful, you can open the doors where there is no window also.

Cheers!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 37 Achievements & Failures #TheLifesWay

Hi Friends,

Week 37 - Sat 10 Sep 2022 - Fri 16 Sep 2022

The week started with a party at one of my friend's houses and then the whole week as a merry-go-lucky charm kind of quality attached to it. Why I am saying this so you will be able to know if you read the whole blog post.

1. Thank You - The counter reached from 19913 onwards to close at 33322 counts. I didn't take it to my daily walks hence the count increase was very slow.

2. Daily Walking - I only did 12.21 kilometres this week against my weekly target of 20 kilometres. I am getting a little worried about my 1000 km target that seems really far at the end of the year. I think I started marking the total kilometres for the week in my BuJo which led to the decrease as I am always afraid of the final target. I never wrote the same earlier in any of the months. The mental pressure of doing it is much more than the actual effort to do the thing. Don't think just do it!

3. Entertainment - I watched the weekly episodes of the regular web series I am seeing every week. I also watched the movie Brahmastra - Shiva part 1 of the trilogy. I totally loved the same but didn't love the dialogue written for the movie. Never thought that Amitabh Bachchan will be questioned in a language in this much-hyped movie whereas he was properly respected in the movie named Jhund where the actors were from slums or representing slums. The visuals and everything looked really cool and the introduction of characters like Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan was amazing to watch too. I don't know if the language representation of Allahabad is true in terms of being straight forward but in real life, I see that they do respect and language too is soft even if it can be direct.
4. YouTube - I earned my biggest day earning in terms of YouTube Adsense of USD 2.88 but since the first time, I have never even crossed USD 3 in a single day thereafter. I have also observed that YouTube shorts decrease your earnings for the main long-form video as well so it's better to form a new channel for YT shorts as then you can experiment with your videos. The subscriber though gets increasingly fast on YT shorts so for a small Youtuber like myself with less than 2k subs, I should not plan to introduce a new channel as my channel have only 1500 subscribers. I also attended the first virtual YT Shorts event which was part of 3 series of events scheduled for South Africa.
5. Contest Wins - I won the Sandton Central Alto 234 contest to go to the Leonardo building and enjoy a drink on the top of the 54 floors. I will surely book the same. I also attended a Lego Launch Event and you can enjoy the video too. I also attended some conferences at Sandton Convention centre and got some goodies from all those events which I shared on my channel. Do check out the random goodies from all these events. I also won the Incredible Connection Jabra contest on Facebook and the goodies will be received in future via courier.

I also tried the food at The New Delhi Darbar restaurant after a gap of so many years as earlier I never liked the food at the restaurant when I came to South Africa in 2013.  This time the food was really good and also loved the whole experience with the new management. You shall definitely try the same and it's near Benmore Gardens Shopping Mall. I also posted the imaged on Google Maps if you search for the restaurant and already it has crossed many thousand views.

Cheers!!!
