Stationery Review 8: Camlin Syah Black Fountain Pen Ink (INR 30 or US 36 cents) 60ml Bottle

Hi Friends,

Camlin Syah Black is the other fountain pen ink I bought in India for Rupees 30 only, around 36 cents in US Dollars or around ZAR 7. This is much cheaper than the Karkos Inks we bought from Ali Express. I will be going to use it in the coming months. This is the first ink that you can use if you want to initiate yourself into the fountain pens and the ink it uses.

Camlin Syah Black has shades of grey and black and is not the darkest black ink out there in the market. It is lighter in black and more towards the darker grey colour of the ink. Only in wetter layers, it does become a black version of itself. I will be using this ink more than any other ink as it's perfect for a daily writer. The ink is also made from a non-toxic formulation so it won't have any effect on your kids other than their hands and sometimes lips being coloured.

As I also told in my videos as a kid, I had this bad habit of taking the tip of the pen onto my mouth and it leaves a darker coloured ink on my face, hand and tongue. This bad habit took a lot of effort to go away because as a younger kid, I used to take pencil backside in my mouth to chew so maybe that started this bad habit.

Stationery Review 8: Camlin Syah Black Fountain Pen Ink (INR 30 or US 36 cents) 60ml Bottle
Camlin is an Indian Stationery Manufacturing company that was started in Mumbai in 1931. They started making inks around 1932 and since then they have been the choice of office and school. They have more than 2000 products in three categories under two brands Camlin and Camel. I totally love these basic fountain pen inks from Camlin that are available in three colours - Royal Blue, Syah Black and Scarlet Red.

The packaging is simple and the ink bottle is made from plastic material. Despite being new there was a leak as I brought them from India to South Africa in the luggage. I kept the inks inside the zip lock packets hence there was no leakage outside those bags onto my clothes and other materials.

This is the cheapest ink I have in my arsenal which I love also. When I was buying the same, my attitude was when I have so many expensive inks from around the world, why should I waste my money on this ink? But the price of this ink made me think that I could mix and combine these inks to create more coloured inks hence the purchase.

I also found that in my almirahs in India, there is a black ink glass bottle from Camlin which is priced at Rs. 20 only. The ink is still not dry and I didn't bring that one here. It means that using the fountain pen and having different ones has come to me since the time I was in school or was introduced to them during my childhood. My father doesn't have any fountain pens because he always used the banker's ball pens or max roller gel pens. So, I have no inheritance of fountain pens but I will definitely leave behind the series of great fountain pens for my grandchildren.

Kokuyo Japan has bought more than 51% share in Camlin so now most of the items are co-branded. They have brought in a lot of new products in international markets as well. I am sure Kokuyo Camlin will find its way into South Africa as well just like Deli Stationery.

Let me know what are your thoughts on buying local inks from your respective country or Indian Inks that are really good as well as great value products?

Stationery Review 7: Camlin Royal Blue Fountain Pen Ink (INR 30 or US 36 cents) 60ml Bottle

Hi Guys,

Camlin is an Indian Stationery Manufacturing company that was started in Mumbai in 1931. They started making inks around 1932 and since then they have been the choice of office and school. They have more than 2000 products in three categories under two brands Camlin and Camel. Check out this ink bottle that I bought for only Rupees 30 i.e. ZAR 7 or 36 cents. The colour is bright and I totally love these basic fountain pen inks from Camlin that are available in three colours - Royal Blue, Syah Black and Scarlet Red.
Stationery Review 7: Camlin Royal Blue Fountain Pen Ink (INR 30 or US 36 cents) 60ml Bottle
I could not find the Red ink in the shop where I was staying in Noida but it must be available at a stationery shop near you. The Camlin Royal Blue is really wet ink as these are water-based inks. The colour really pops out in these inks. The packaging is simple and the ink bottle is made from cheap plastic material.

I mixed the ink with Organics Studio Nitrogen on my pen which was getting dry due to Nitrogen ink that's also called Royal Blue. But since the time I have mixed up this ink on the leftovers of Nitrogen in my Ali Express pen, there is a smooth flow and the feed is also looking cleaner as this is water-based ink. Now I want to buy the Scarlet Red from Camlin Range as well.

Stationery Review 6: Noodler's Black Bulletproof Ink (90ml) USD 14

Hi Guys,

Noodler's Ink is a brand built by Nathan Tardif in Massachusetts, United States of America. It now has more than 100+ inks that have gained much popularity. They all are 100% handmade in the USA and no material is procured from China and totally made in the USA. I got these from my brother who brought them from the USA to India and I brought them here to South Africa. It's also available at Applebee pens and WriteGear online stores. Check this solid black ink in this video.
Stationery Review 6: Noodler's Black Bulletproof Ink (90ml) USD 14

Noodler's has around 15 range of inks that I told you in this video and this Black forms part of their second range named Bulletproof inks. This ink is water resistant to the most and it was so difficult to take it out from my Glass pen as well. It still reflects the blackish tint and I have done some more writing with other inks with the glass pen thereafter.

It's really strong in terms of being bulletproof which makes it the most popular Black ink amongst the collectors and users of fountain pens. All the portions on the ink swabs looked like water dipped in some black material and on the wetter portions, the paper was totally black.

My only problem is that I have to commit a pen to this ink and then I can't use that pen to any other colour ink. Coming to that one pen is the main issue and though I have many pens, I have to identify the one that will always be filled with this ink. As I am writing this, I think the Parker Vector XL will be best suited for this ink as it has a medium wider nib and the body colour is also matt black. The pen writes a little wetter as well so more ink means more black legible writing on the paper. Hence, I can now definitely go ahead and finish the already installed ink in the pen and clean the same for this ink to take over the beautiful body of Parker Fountain Pen

It's also available at Applebee pens and WriteGear online stores. The price ranges from ZAR 360 to ZAR 560 but you will get them locally in South Africa. WriteGear currently have no stock as of date but maybe they will have the same in future. Between Applebee and WriteGear, there is hardly any change in the prices so if you are in Cape Town, you should travel to the Write Gear shop and if in Johannesburg, travel to the Applebee collection point for pickup as then you don't pay for the courier charges.

The ink in the Noodler's ink really spoils your hands etc so be careful with this ink. The bottle doesn't help as well as it's filled to the top and has a wide opening. That's done by the brand to provide a lot of value to its customers which I totally respect.

This ink is also water resistant and can sustain a lot of water on the paper and retain your writing. Also, all the drawings on the ink bottles are made and that makes each bottle unique. I totally loved the Noodler's range of inks and if I could find money I would definitely invest more money into their smaller bottles.

What are your views on a single person's started brands similar to Organics Studio and Noodler's Inks? These are not corporate style or branded inks and need the support of all the users to buy and share their inks with the world.

Stationery Review 5: Noodler's Baltimore Canyon Blue Ink (90ml) USD 22

Hi Friends,

My brother also bought one of the standard inks from Noodler's Ink range of products. He also loved this particular ink introduced in the 2020 Baltimore Pen Show and since then it's been going on strong. I too loved the colour and you will too. This Noodler's ink is water resistant and is available at Goulet Pens for USD 22 for a 3oz (90ml) bottle on this day.

Noodler's Ink is a brand built by Nathan Tardif in Massachusetts, United States of America. It now has more than 100+ inks that have gained much popularity. They are 100% handmade in the USA; no material is procured from China and made in the USA even the stickers and glass bottles. I got these from my brother who brought them from the USA and I brought them here to South Africa. It's also available at Applebee pens and WriteGear online stores. Stationery Review 5: Noodler's Baltimore Canyon Blue Ink (90ml) USD 22

I really loved this ink in this nice blue colour. I think I have developed a fascination for blue-coloured inks. I want them more and more in my arsenal now. This has a really dark aspect to the blue and doesn't turn into any other colour or black in its darker wetter portions. The inks are the main aspect of the fountain pen collection because you need to fill inks into your writing instruments. I feel that the brands should also sell 10ml or 5ml bottles as well at cheaper prices because it's really difficult to finish the 90ml bottles. If you don't like the colour, then the whole bottle goes to waste as it's difficult to find other ink collectors or fountain pen users in general.

The ink in the Noodler's ink really spoils your hands etc so be careful with this ink. The bottle doesn't help as well as it's filled to the top and has a wide opening. That's done by the brand to provide a lot of value to its customers which I totally respect.

Stationery Review 4: Lamy T53 Crystal Ink - Topaz (Brown) 30ml Bottle

Hi Guys,

Lamy Topaz is another ink that is in my arsenal of ink for 2024 the count of which has now increased to 25 different inks from different brands. I am not talking about the cartridges I have or samples of the inks received with the pens. I am sure the focus will be getting and collecting some more inks during the year. I will try to participate in all the contests possible so that I win some inks and review them as well. For the rest of my life, I have enough as I won't be able to finish the same in the next 10-15 years or so.
Stationery Review 4: Lamy T53 Crystal Ink - Topaz (Brown) 30ml Bottle
I need to contact Lamy South Africa's marketing manager to get more inks for review if possible.

Lamy Topaz T53 Crystal Ink comes in a beautiful bottle that we discussed in our previous posts. But the unique thing about this bottle was the little plastic line on the cap that's in the same colour as the ink. This is different from T52 where the whole cap is in the colour of the ink.

If we look at the dried ink swab, I can see that the ink is a little bit darker than the cheaper Karkos ink I bought from Ali Express. Also, Lamy Topaz has a bit of green colour sheen that comes on the paper where we put some more ink. Also, there is a bit of red colour mixed into the ink on the darker spots.
The price of the Lamy Crystal Inks is consistent on the Lamy Online Shop for ZAR 299 and during the black Friday sale, I got it at a 25% discount and bought the same for ZAR 225 only. I strongly suggest you buy directly from the Lamy Online Shop at https://www.lamyshop.co.za/ and get some of their limited editions of ink.

Hi Guys,

With new smartphones scheduled for arrival in South Africa and exciting competitions and campaigns planned for this year, 2024 is shaping up to be a big year for TECNO and itel

The start of a new year brings a chance for reinvigoration, exciting plans, and a relook at strategy and approach, and this is no different for smart tech brands TECNO and itel.

Following on from an impactful year in South Africa in 2023, which included the introduction of the SPARK 10 Series into the country, 2024 is shaping up to be another exciting year for both brands with significant developments, including a major launch scheduled for TECNO for the second quarter of the year (be on the lookout for more news about that).

Who doesn’t love winning prizes? There were plenty of opportunities for TECNO and itel fans to win in 2023, with devices and other fantastic items given away, and in 2024 both brands will continue to host regular competitions on their social media pages. Stationery Review 3: Lamy T53 Crystal Ink - Agate (Grey) 30ml Bottle

Hi Guys,

In continuation with our Lamy T53 Crystal Fountain Pen Inks review, I also bought this really light colour as I wanted to try the same as well. The grey colour is also available from the Kaweco inks range but then this was crystal ink so thought of investing in the same. I am talking about the Lamy Agate which is a silvery Grey in color.

Stationery Review 3: Lamy T53 Crystal Ink - Agate (Grey) 30ml Bottle

I got an idea when posting these blog posts that there should be some YouTube Shorts video that needs to be created separately so that it can form part of this blog and also it can then be shared on the YouTube Channels and IG as well. Every day I clean my desk and then again it's full of chaos before I can start shooting the shorts. I definitely need to work on a flowchart where I can leave aside my mental blocks to work on the videos. As you know Universe loves speed and so many ideas get lost if you grab them right when they appear so I am going to grab them and work them smoothly going forward.

Coming back to this Lamy Agate (Grey) T53 Crystal Ink in a 30ml bottle, we have silvery ink that can really be a mixture of white and a little bit of black coloured inks. With this ink also there is no sheen or shimmer to be called crystal ink. Maybe the only way to test them further is to use different kinds of paper that I don't have currently with me.

The best feeling about his ink is that it feels like your fountain pen is writing like a pencil as after the drying time, the paper and the ink feel like written using a H/2H pencil. In case you want to relive your childhood and doesn't want to use the clutch pencils etc then this Lamy Agate is perfect for you.

Paper does make a lot of difference to the way your ink will behave along with the nib size. A lot of it depends on the GSM of the paper along with the fabric of the paper. There are so many problems like feathering, ghosting, bleed-through and smoothness (drying times) that need to be observed for the inks and papers along with the colour of paper that's available in the market. Like with this Agate, white colour paper will be better as compared to the yellowish or cream coloured ones.

This ink is priced at ZAR 299 at the Lamy Online Shop in South Africa and with a 25% discount during the black Friday period on the website, I got it for around ZAR 225 only.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend the Grey colour inks unless you have a specific purpose like paintings, drawings or doodling that you have to do. What idea I have is to mix this ink with something that can add some shine to the same and will try mixing yellow into the same along with some green in a separate one to check what colours can be made out of it. If we add a drop of black ink into this one, there will be no difference left between black and grey then as you can see from the ink swab in the video.

Check out the videos and the writings in the video. A new short video will also feature in this blog post soon. Thanks!!!

New Year Resolutions - Week 31 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay

Hi Guys,

Week 31 started from 30 July to go till 5th August 2023 and since the last few weeks, it's been hectic as there were a lot of launch events during these months. Sometimes all this travel and attending events leave you with very less energy to focus on other things so it's of extreme importance that you do exercise your body and build some strength on a daily basis.
New Year Resolutions - Week 31 Achievements & Failures in 2023 #TheLifesWay
1. Entertainment - The week started with the Pankaj Udhas show at Emperor's Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been performing live for the last 43 years and his voice quality is not really up to the mark but it was great to see a legend live in action.
2. Launch Events - This week all days I have attended one or the other launch events from a lot of diverse brands. I started with the Women's Conference where I could not spend much time as it was really cold out there and kids felt the same so we had to leave early to attend the Pankaj Udhas Show as well.
I got to play Soccer with the real team players of the South African National team with some people from Huawei South Africa as well. This was for the launch of some new Huawei Wearables. I got a Watch FIT SE along with a Soccer kit.
The next day it was a Dell Technologies dinner and it was really a great personalized event. The next few days there was the Decorex Expo which I went to twice on the weekends. Thanks to Proud SA for making me a winner of the VIP Passes and all my family and friends also saw the event due to the same.
Skyworth also launched their 100inch TVs at a big event and I got the invite for the same as well. It was really nice and got to see some of the latest TVs from Skyworth. The only thing was the event was in Boksburg and it took a while to reach there.

Castle Lite invited us for another dinner party in Houghton and it was really a good one too. It was the launch of some new ambassadors where they got nice jackets and some other products from the brand. I don't think we got anything at the end of the event.
Lastly, to end the week, I attended the Sony Alpha Festival Kyodoka Event in Randburg but had to leave early as I had a dinner appointment. The lines were long to grab Sony's Cameras so I didn't wait and this time I could not lay my hands on their powerful cameras and they were given 30 minutes for each person at the show. They didn't give them earlier and only after the first speaker then initiated the process and it meant the long queues.
3. Thank You - I started again from zero to reach the 20000 mark by the end of the week. The counter is giving me some problems I need to find an app on mobile to keep tracking the same permanently and in the best way possible.
I didn't watch any web series or movies during this week as there were so many things going on.

4. YouTube - I did a lot of YouTube Shorts during this week and for July 23, I got 141 subscribers that's almost double the previous month in terms of subscribers count added to the channel. I thought that someday my channel would have a snowball effect but that has not happened as yet I will continue to create videos so that it eventually happens and then I will reach that 100k mark Silver play button and thereafter 1M Golden play button from YouTube. If you don't have subscribed to my channel and if you love unboxing, gadgets and stationery items then please do give it a look and then decide to subscribe - www.youtube.com/@thelifesway
Thanks a lot to all the brands for all the launch event invites and other expos happening around me to attend. I am really grateful to the expo as it has expanded my mindset to check out thousands of brands and companies that are there to help their customers in whatever way possible.

Aum Namah Shivay!

Thanks! Cheers!!!

Stationery Review 2: Lamy T53 Crystal Ink - Azurite (Deep Blue) 30ml Bottle

Hi Guys,

I thought of also marking the stationery review posts to maintain continuity as well. This will take a while to post for all the YouTube videos I have shot which are more than 500+ for long format and 1200 + for Shorts format. I love stationery products and I am sure you also must have fallen in love with them during your life.

When you have a lot of pens, the next item is to buy the inks in different colours. I really love the colour of inks that get popped out and are reflective/brilliant in nature, by which I mean that they should shine on the paper whether they have shimmer or not, doesn't matter. It should really have a personality of its own. To pursue this passion, I have bought numerous colours of inks which will be showcased to you in my YouTube videos as well as in blog posts.
Stationery Review 2: Lamy T53 Crystal Ink - Azurite (Deep Blue) 30ml Bottle
Lamy Germany is one of my favourite brands in terms of the range of products they offer. They have a unique style and owning a Lamy Safari Fountain Pen was one of my dreams. It all started when I bought one in Yellow colour during 2022 from Sandton Stationery & Print shop in Sandton City Mall. I got it for around ZAR 280 and then the ink converter cost me about ZAR 120 more so overall I paid ZAR 400 for the pen and got my EF nib as well. Now I am looking for a black F nib to fit my Safari Fountain Pen.

My second reason to love Lamy Germany is also due to its limited range of products, not in terms of the colours that they keep bringing but in terms of the designs of the products. The writing instruments range they offer starts from Safari, 2000, Aion, Studio, Swift, Vista, Ideos, al-Star, LX, Logo, Cp 1, Scala, Nexx, Accent, Joy, Dialog, Imporium and some more. The same models are also available in Rollerball and ballpoint pens as well. I am in pursuit of owning Lamy 2000 and Lamy Dialog.
If we talk about the inks, they only have two ranges - T52 (50ml) and T53 Crystal Inks (30ml) bottles. T52 are normal day-to-day inks that are cheaper as compared to crystal inks and come with tissue paper to take care of any stains or extra ink on the body of the pen.

T53 are expensive crystal inks that have sheen and shimmer built into the same and really reflect the quality Lamy offers. The design of the bottle is awesome as you unbox the ink. The bottle has a big opening that is both beneficial in terms of filling the ink in any kind of pen as well as the same can lead to accidents in case you drop it and the whole ink will be on the desk or ground.

I wanted to go into the crystal range of inks so I kept waiting for the Black Friday sale at Lamy Online shop because the price kept on increasing at all the online stores. I thought the same would be offered at a discount like last year when T52 ink bottles were sold for ZAR 99 only. The price of the T53 was the same as the T52 ink bottle last year in 2022. But the black Friday sale this time has very limited pens on discount and no ink formed the part of the same so I had to take a plunge to buy the inks at the price mentioned on the website. My good luck was that there was a 25% discount that was applied store-wide on all the products so it cost me a little bit less than the retail price of ZAR 299 (USD 16).

I bought this Azurite T53 Crystal Ink from Lamy Online Shop for ZAR 224 (USD 12) only. Lamy Azurite is also called Deep Blue and the ink is really nice tilted towards the darker purple shades as well. I am sure you won't miss the letters written in this ink as it's really dark and makes you wonder if this is black or blue or what? I am not sure why Lamy is calling the same as Crystal ink when there is no brilliance in the colour on the page.

I have not seen any of the Lamy inks feature in the top inks on the famous stationery shops videos on YouTube. There was also a problem with the ink bottle as most of the ink came out of the box and fell on other ink packets as well. The brands replaced the bottle but the same happened with the other Azurite bottle as well. The rest of the colours I bought have no leakage. Also, the packaging was different in all the T53 bottles I bought.

Overall, I am not clear about this ink as it should have been bought in the first place or not and now I have two bottles to finish. If anyone wants the same, I can sell the same for ZAR 200 cash in Johannesburg, South Africa. I will definitely try different pens and use this ink more as I just bought it before I went on holiday to India and since that time I have not used it. I will definitely try to use this ink in my new Fountain Pens from Kanwrite. More about the same in the next video so keep watching my YouTube channel

Stationery Review 1: Organics Studio Nitrogen - Royal Blue Fountain Pen Ink #TheLifesWay

Dear All,

Hereby I am starting to promote all my YouTube content on my blog as well. I am not satisfied with <10 views on my channel so I need to do a snowball effect using all the backlinks to my videos and shorts so that I can get a decent amount of views. Let me know if you have any questions regarding any products or services showcased in the videos.

As you know I have restarted my hobby of using Fountain Pens and collecting them as well. The pens need inks so you have to get them as well. I am not satisfied with a single colour of ink which I used for the last 4 years and that was Parker Quink Blue so I ventured into a range of inks already available in the country and the world over.
Stationery Review: Organics Studio Nitrogen - Royal Blue Fountain Pen Ink #TheLifesWay
I made a list of all the inks that I wanted in my life and slowly and steadily I am buying them or getting them. This particular ink was not available in South Africa so I asked my brother for the same and as luck followed, he was also using fountain pens and is currently in love with TWSBI Diamond 580AL in Blue colour. The pen is lovely and he mixes some coloured inks into his special TWSBI ink bottle as well.

My brother bought me Organics Studio's most famous ink Nitrogen, a Royal Blue ink with a red sheen. Thanks to him for getting it from the USA as it was unavailable in South Africa. The same is priced at around USD 13 at Goulet Pens. Checkout the video about the ink swab on my platform -

Organics Studio is a brand started by a biochemistry student from University of Maryland in United States. They have five range of inks -
  1. Elements - Less Saturated Soft Inks. This Nitrogen is also part of this series.
  2. Masters of Writing - Highly saturated unique colours themed after famous book authors.
  3. Master of Science - Pigmented or iron gall archival inks.
  4. Darwin Inks - Quick drying inks and this is best for lefties.
  5. Ernest's Vintage Writing Fluids - Vintage style ink with low maintenance.

The best part about this ink is -
  • Solid Red Sheen thought the ink is in Royal Blue colour.
  • No Shimmer and No shading.
  • Looks really good in the light with its dual colours.
The bad part about this ink is-
  • Stains your hands badly
  • After drying also, if you put your hands on the paper, you will get stains
  • High-maintenance ink as it's really hard to clean your pen.
  • Not water resistant
These inks are packed in 55ml plastic bottles which are then packed in a cardboard box with a sticker pasted on the same.

After writing with the ink and then checking the change of colours, I feel that there is some kind of chemical reaction that oxidizes when it comes in contact with the paper and air and turns the top layer into a red colour. If you wipe it then you will have a turquoise colour underneath. This test was done on my table, where some drops fell and I could analyze the process.

When I washed my glass pen then the water turned into a turquoise colour so this ink has some kind of chemical composition that's based on that colour and gives a red sheen when dried.
The social media pages have not seen any updates since Feb-2023 (Instagram & Facebook) and the website is not working as well. I can see the inks are available at Goulet Pens for USD 13 only.

Enter the New Era of Mobile AI with Samsung Galaxy S24 Series @SamsungMobileSA #GalaxyAI

Hi Guys,

Empowering everyday experiences, from barrier-free communication to awe-inspiring creativity to the power for even more possibilities, Galaxy AI transforms the iconic S Series for the future.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has proudly unveiled the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24, unleashing new mobile experiences with Galaxy AI[i]. This ground-breaking Galaxy S Series leads the way into a new era that will forever change how mobile devices empower users.

AI amplifies nearly every experience on the Galaxy S24 series, from enabling barrier-free communication with intelligent text and call translations, to maximizing creative freedom with Galaxy’s ProVisual Engine, to setting a new standard for search that will change how Galaxy users discover the world around them.

The global electronics giant is also thrilled to announce the pre-order availability of its highly anticipated AI-powered Galaxy S24 Series. Officially hitting the South African market on Friday, 14 February 2024, local customers can secure their Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, or Galaxy S24 during the pre-order period, which opens on January 31 and runs through to 29 February 2024. Customers who pre-order any device from the Galaxy S24 Series through participating mobile operators can get a Galaxy Tab S9 FE, starting from just R99 per month[1].

“The Galaxy S24 Series transforms our connection with the world and ignites the next decade of mobile innovation,” said: TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy AI is built on our innovation heritage and deep understanding of how people use their phones. We are excited to see how our users around the world empower their everyday lives with Galaxy AI to open up new possibilities.”

Make Every day Experience Epic
Galaxy AI introduces meaningful intelligence aimed at enhancing every part of life, especially the phone’s most fundamental role: communication. When you need to defy language barriers, Galaxy S24 makes it easier than ever.

Chat with another student or colleague from abroad. Book a reservation while on vacation in another country. It is all possible with Live Translate[ii], two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls within the native app. No third-party apps are required, and on-device AI keeps conversations completely private.

With Interpreter, live conversations can be instantly translated on a split-screen view so people standing opposite each other can read a text transcription of what the other person has said. It even works without cellular data or Wi-Fi. For messages and other apps, Chat Assist can help perfect conversational tones to ensure communication sounds as it was intended: like a polite message to a co-worker or a short and catchy phrase for a social media caption[iii].

AI built into Samsung Keyboard can also translate messages in real-time in 13 languages[iv]. In the car, Android Auto[v] will automatically summarise incoming messages and suggest relevant replies and actions, like sending someone your ETA, so you can stay connected while staying focused on the road.

The organisation also gets a big boost with Note Assist[vi] in Samsung Notes, featuring AI-generated summaries, template creation that streamlines notes with pre-made formats, and cover creation to make notes easy to spot with a brief preview. For voice recordings, even when there are multiple speakers, Transcript Assist[vii] uses AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarise and even translate recordings.
Enter the New Era of Mobile AI with Samsung Galaxy S24 Series @SamsungMobileSA #GalaxyAI
Communication is not the only way Galaxy S24 Series takes the fundamental benefits of the phone into the future. Online search has transformed nearly every aspect of life. Galaxy S24 marks another milestone in the history of search as the innovative phone to debut intuitive, gesture-driven Circle to Search[viii] with Google. To give Galaxy users an incredible new tool, Galaxy turned to one of the worldwide trailblazers of search, Google, and opened up new forms of discovery with a simple gesture.

With a long press on the home button, users can circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on Galaxy S24’s screen to see helpful, high-quality search results. Seeing a beautiful landmark in the background of a friend’s social media post or a surprising fun fact on YouTube Shorts can quickly become an accurate search to learn more – without having to leave that app. And depending on a user‘s location, for certain searches, generative AI-powered overviews can provide helpful information and context pulled together from across the web, and users can ask more complex and nuanced questions. It is that easy. And that epic.

Unleash Creativity to Discover the World in New Ways
Galaxy S24 Series’s ProVisual Engine[ix] is a comprehensive suite of AI-powered tools that transform image-capturing abilities and maximise creative freedom every step of the way, from setting up a shot all the way to sharing it on social. Gone are shaky, pixelated images taken from far away. Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Quad Tele System, with a new 5x optical zoom lens, works with the 50MP sensor to enable optical-quality performance at zoom levels from 2x, 3x, 5x to 10x[x] magnification thanks to the Adaptive Pixel Sensor. Images also show crystal clear results at 100x with enhanced digital zoom.

With upgraded Nightography capabilities, photos and videos shot on Galaxy S24 Space Zoom are brilliant in any condition, even when zoomed in. Capture more light in dim conditions with Galaxy S24 Ultra’s larger pixel size, now 1.4 μm, which is 60% bigger[xi] compared to the previous model. Blur is reduced on Galaxy S24 Ultra with wider optical image stabiliser (OIS) angles and enhanced hand-shake compensation.

When recording videos, both front and rear cameras are equipped with Dedicated ISP Blocks for noise reduction, and Galaxy S24 analyses gyro information to distinguish between the filmer’s movement and the subject’s. This allows more effective noise removal and clear videos in the dark, even from far away.
Enter the New Era of Mobile AI with Samsung Galaxy S24 Series @SamsungMobileSA #GalaxyAI
After great shots are captured, innovative Galaxy AI editing tools enable simple edits like erase, re-compose and remaster. For easier and more efficient optimisations, Edit Suggestion[xii] uses Galaxy AI to suggest perfectly suitable tweaks for each photo. To give users even more creative control and freedom, Generative Edit[xiii] can fill in parts of an image background with generative AI. When a picture is crooked, AI will fill in the borders.

When an object needs to be slightly moved to be in the perfect position, AI lets users adjust the position of the subject and generates a blended background in its original spot. Anytime Galaxy S24 deploys generative AI to amplify an image, a watermark will appear on the image and in metadata. And if an action-packed video needs to be slowed down, the new Instant Slow-mo can generate additional frames based on movements to smoothly slow down action-packed moments for a more detailed look.

To ensure every image stuns at every stage, Super HDR reveals lifelike previews before the shutter is ever pressed. And while capturing memories is an essential phone feature, sharing memories with the world is just as meaningful. Now, third-party social apps make the most of Galaxy’s AI-powered camera system.

Premium Galaxy S Series camera features now integrate directly with mobile apps in HDR to level up social sharing[xiv]. When it is time to find an image in the Gallery or Instagram feed and reels, photos and videos are also shown in Super HDR for a more lifelike range of brightness, colour and contrast by analysing highlighted sections of the images.

Galaxy’s Most Intelligent Experience Ever, Powered by Premium Performance
As AI becomes a more prominent part of everyday life, performance power must excel to meet the demands. Gaming. Heavy-duty video recording and editing. Jumping between five apps to plan a trip. Whatever the task, Galaxy S24 provides an incredible experience thanks to enhancements in its chipset[xv], display and more. Every Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy[xvi].

Optimised especially for Galaxy users, this chipset delivers remarkable NPU improvement for incredibly efficient AI processing. In all three Galaxy S24 models, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rates also improve performance efficiency. Galaxy gaming is more powerful thanks to hardware and software improvements. Galaxy S24 Ultra boast an optimal thermal control system with 1.9 times larger vapor chamber[xvii], improving device surface temperature, while also maximising sustained performance power.

Ray tracing enables life-like visuals with superior shadow and reflection effects. And through collaboration with formidable gaming partners, Galaxy S24 lets users enjoy more optimised, popular global mobile games. Visuals are more vibrant and captivating on the brightest Galaxy display ever[xviii]. Galaxy S24 reaches 2,600nit peak brightness and delivers improved outdoor visibility with Vision Booster.
Enter the New Era of Mobile AI with Samsung Galaxy S24 Series @SamsungMobileSA #GalaxyAI
On the display, Corning® Gorilla® Armor[xix] on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is optically enhanced and strives to demonstrate superior durability against damage caused by everyday scratches. It delivers dramatically reduced reflection by up to 75% in a wide range of lighting conditions, ensuring a smooth, comfortable viewing experience. Across the Galaxy S24 Series, design enhancements with slimmer and even bezels make it easier to immerse in any viewing experience and enable larger screen sizes on Galaxy S24+’s 6.7-inch and Galaxy S24’s 6.2-inch displays within nearly the same size specifications[xx]. Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch flatter display, optimised not just for viewing but also for productivity. Plus, the Galaxy S24+ now supports the same level of QHD+ found on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Advanced Security and Privacy Empower User Choice and Trust
Secured by Samsung Knox, Galaxy’s defence-grade, multi-layer security platform, Galaxy S24 safeguards critical information and protects against vulnerabilities with end-to-end secure hardware, real-time threat detection and collaborative protection. Samsung’s long-standing commitment to providing users with choice and control over their devices continues in the era of AI. Galaxy S24 users have full control over how much they allow their data to enhance AI experiences, through Advanced Intelligence settings, which can disable online processing of data for AI features.[xxi]

The Knox Matrix[xxii] vision of a secure, connected and password-less future is also advanced with passkeys. Passkeys enable convenient and secure access to a user’s registered websites and apps across all their trusted devices through digital credentials, helping protect against phishing attacks.

Enhanced Data Protection offers end-to-end encryption when users backup, sync or restore their data with Samsung Cloud, allowing Galaxy S24 users to connect to other devices while staying synchronised and secure. This is to ensure that data can only be encrypted or decrypted on a user’s devices, meaning nobody can see it but the user, even if a server is compromised or account details are stolen. And if access to a trusted device is lost, a recovery code can help prevent loss of data.

Galaxy S24 is also protected with Samsung’s expansive list of innovative security and privacy features including Knox Vault, Security & Privacy Dashboard, Auto Blocker, Secure Wi-Fi, Private Share, Maintenance Mode and more.

The Next Phase of Samsung’s Environmental Journey
Establishing a new category of mobile experiences also means re-imagining how Galaxy technology is designed and packaged to do more with less for people and the planet. Galaxy S24 continues to scale the variety of recycled materials in Galaxy devices by applying recycled plastics, glass and aluminium to internal and external components[xxiii].

It also takes these efforts one step further. For the first time, Galaxy S24 features components made with recycled cobalt and rare earth elements[xxiv]. In Galaxy S24 Ultra, a minimum of 50% recycled cobalt was used in the battery[xxv], and 100% recycled rare earth elements were incorporated into the speakers[xxvi]. Galaxy S24 is also the first Galaxy S Series to be designed with recycled steel and Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). Galaxy S24 Ultra features a minimum of 40% recycled steel in the speakers[xxvii], and it includes a minimum of 10% pre-consumer recycled TPU in the side and volume keys. Additionally, every Galaxy S24 comes in a packaging box made from 100% recycled paper material.

The latest flagship continues Samsung’s commitment to extending the product lifecycle, offering seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates to help users reliably experience the optimised performance of their Galaxy devices for even longer[xxviii]. Lastly, Galaxy S24 is UL ECOLOGO® certified[xxix], and its carbon footprint has been measured and verified by The Carbon Trust[xxx].

Galaxy S24 is a demonstration of progress against Samsung MX’s environmental roadmap. Samsung remains steadfast in delivering on its set of goals to be achieved by the end of 2025[xxxi]. At the end of 2022, Samsung achieved the first of these goals by incorporating recycled materials in all mobile products, from Galaxy smartphones and tablets to PCs and wearables. Today, the company is setting a new recycled material goal. By 2030, Samsung will incorporate at least one recycled material in every module[xxxii] of every mobile product.

Precision Technology and Elegance in Every Detail
Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first-ever Galaxy phone to feature a titanium frame[xxxiii], enhancing device durability and longevity. Galaxy S24 Ultra’s significantly thinner body enables a better on-the-go experience with a more comfortable grip. On Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24, a streamlined One-mass design satisfies a more aesthetic standard with a seamless connection between the device’s rear cover and side frame.

The Galaxy S24 series comes in Earth mineral-inspired colour tones. On Galaxy S24 Ultra, colours[xxxiv] include Titanium Gray, Titanium Black, Titanium Violet and Titanium Yellow. On Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 colours include Onyx Black, Marble Gray, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow. All three models will come with additional colours available online only.

Additionally, Samsung is offering an enticing trade-in option. Customers who pre-order any device through retail or cash channels, including the Samsung eStore, Samsung Brand Stores, Incredible Connection, Game, Makro, and Take-A-Lot will receive a generous R4000 in-store voucher or an impressive R10,000 trade-in cash back[2].

As part of the special pre-order offer, customers can opt for one year of Samsung Care Plus at a reduced rate of R499[3]. This exclusive offer includes one screen replacement within a year from the date of purchase, providing customers with peace of mind. Activation of the Samsung Care Plus offer must occur within 30 days of purchase. For more information about Galaxy S24 series, please visit: Samsung.com.
