Stationery Review 246 - 3 Reasons Why Leather Pen Cases are a Game Changer for Everyday Carry

Hi Friends,

I bought this Everyday Carry leather pen case, which also includes a notepad and space for an iPad or MacBook, neither of which I currently own. The leather is really nice to touch and feel. 28 pens can easily fit the elastic loops, and the elastic is free flowing, meaning if one pen is small and the other big, then the loops can be increased or decreased manually to fit the pens. Check it out! 

I really love leather products, and over the years, I have got many of them in my stationery collection. This is one of the best ones I have had in a while. I have seen a similar kind of leather journal that's available at Sandton Stationery & Print Shop inside Sandton City mall. The journal we are talking about is specifically made for the shop by their own vendor, who creates these kinds of leather journals.

Stationery Review 245 - Jinhao10 Marble Burgundy Fountain Pen Review

Hi Friends,

I bought this fountain pen in Marble Burgundy colour out of 32 different variants available at Amazon.com. The same is also available in 24 variants at Writespoke, with a price range from ZAR 600 to 700. Get them if you like them, but it's a beautiful pen. Check them out! 

This is really a great fountain pen in the retractable series from Jinhao. The quality they made and the design they got inspiration from are amazingly great. This is a much better pen than the Endless Phantom Retractable fountain pen, which we also reviewed after paying for the Kickstarter campaign price at USD 40, whereas this one is around USD 25 only.

Hi Friends,

Hongdian 100 Silver Steel Piston Fountain Pen in Fine Nib. I bought from Amazon.com in the USA. I got the same for around USD 25, and now the price is around $30 for the same. This is a piston-filled fountain pen with an ink window. It's really cool to see the ink flowing up and down inside the barrel of the pen. The nib is a little longer than the normal ones, so it looks great as well. Check it out! 

This is one of the most beautiful designs that's available in the metal body design at such a price range. I have not seen much more beautiful pen like this one. Really great to have one in your arsenal of pens.

Stationery Review 243 - Kaco Gel Pen (0.5mm)

Hi Friends,

I got the Kaco Gel Pen with a 0.5 mm refill, and it writes beautifully. This pen came in the goodies bag of the Oppo Reno launch event long back. 

This is almost the same as the Rotring pen design, which Kaco got inspiration from is what my feeling is. Check it out, and it's available at AliExpress and some pen online retailers in the USA and the UK.

Stationery Review 242 - Senator Germany Ball Pen (INR 200)

Hi Friends,

I bought this Senator Germany Ball Pen from an online retailer named Shopclues, as they used to have deals daily. After a gap of 12 years or so, the pen is still working means something and tells that the German ink is great. 

Senator Ball Pens are generally used by brands for merchandise giveaways in India. I have not seen it yet in South Africa, but I may be wrong as well.

I bought this Parker 95 Pen set from Facebook Marketplace. This is one of the best pen sets I have from Parker. This is no longer in production, so it has some vintage value. I bought the same to bring it to you for your viewing purposes. Check them out!

The best part about these pens is their clip, and that's how it feels like it's made of mirror. The pens write beautifully with their unique design in a brushed metal body made of stainless steel. The best part about the pens is that they can be handed over to your future generations as well.

Stationery Review 239 - Jinhao 92 Fountain Pen Black (USD 15)

Hi Friends,

Introducing the Jinhao 92 Star Series of Fountain Pens. This is available in 4 variants at Amazon.com, and we bought the same, including taxes, for around USD 15 (ZAR 300). The same was also available at WriteSpoke earlier, but now the stock is finished as I can't see it available on their online store. 

What a beautiful pen this is, solid build, writes smoothly, really heavy but balanced in your hands when unposted. This is awesome. Check it out! If you like the Extra Fine writing, this is the best EF nib I have seen so far from the Jinhao fountain pens I own. The nib is also plated in black colour and that's a first for me as well. 

Jinaho 92 Black is around 40 grams in weight, and the Cap is 14 grams. When you fill the ink, the weight increases to 42-43 grams and an unposted pen with ink is around 28 grams. The weight of the cap is more than most of the pens that come in acrylic or plastic designs.

Stationery Review 238 - Parker 25 Fountain Pen (Steel)

Hi Friends, 

Parker 25 Stainless Steel Fountain Pen comes with a steel medium nib and a silicon ink converter. This one has been out of the market since 1989, and it has just been replaced by the Parker Vector fountain pen, now in the modern world. As I was writing with the same, I could feel that it's just a similar writing experience to my Parker Vector fountain pens. The nib design is also similar as it's curved on the end where they are joined with the feed. 

Moonman, a brand from China, also released its own version of this body design called Moonman B25 Model in the fountain pen range. The same is available at WriteSpoke in Johannesburg, South Africa, for around ZAR 350 each, and the ballpoint version is for ZAR 300 only. Stationery Review 236 - Camlin Mechanical Pencil 2.0mm (INR 25)

Hi Friends, 

I bought these mechanical pencils when I was in India, and since then, they have been lying around for this video to be recorded. There are so many more stationery items like these that are pending the time I have to grant them. This is really an entry-level pencil that's only ZAR 5 and comes with 3 extra leads of 2B darkness. It comes with an inbuilt sharpener of lead and a small rubber on the back. Check it out!

Stationery Review 235 - Chosch Gel Pen 0.5mm (ZAR 5)

Hi Friends, 

I bought these pens on sale, thinking that they would be costlier, but later I found out that they are cheaper if you buy the whole pack of 8 pens for ZAR 38 only where as I paid ZAR 5 for each. They write well and have a nice body design, almost similar to the Lamy Safari barrel and grip section. The cap is a little bit different, but overall looks great. They are available at Mellows F09 Stationery shop in China Mall in Johannesburg. Check them out.

These are really colourful pens with a nice body design. I really loved that they are copied from the Lamy Safari grip and barrel section.

I got this sample pack for Hauser Germany ball pens. This pack has two ball pens. The one is a Hauser XO 20 ball pen, and the one is a Hauser Gliss Liquid pen. They are okay pens, and this is the first time I have used them in my life. Check them out!

I bought these Legami Magnetic Clips from Exclusive Books in the Benmore Gardens store when they were about to close their doors. The stuff was going at a 50% discount, so I thought of getting two of them. One is in heart shape, and the one in avocado shape. Check them out! 

These are perfect for your books, diary, papers as a clip to hold them together or as a pen loop with your ball pens, etc. It can also keep your wired earphones or cables together as well, but the magnet is not that strong for the same.

Stationery Review 231 - Deli Honour Fountain Pen Ink (Dark Blue) ZAR 40

Hi Friends, 

I bought this Deli Honour Fountain Pen Ink in Dark blue colour for ZAR 40 from Mellows Stationery Shop F09 in China Mall, Johannesburg. If you buy 10 pieces of the ink, then it will only cost you ZAR 30 for a 30ml bottle. But I will wait for all the ink colours to arrive before venturing into that. Check it out!

This is a little darker blue colour and can be similar to the one that you would find in the regular Blue-Black ink. I have compared it against so many inks that I have in my collection.

As showcased in the video, this ink is very similar to the ones we have had from Lamy T52 and Pelikan 4001 in Red colour. This is a great way to start the journey with fountain pens.

Stationery Review 229 - Pilot Juice Gel Pen 0.7mm (ZAR 25)

Thanks to Sandton Stationery & Print for Pilot Juice gel pens to test them out. I got them in two colours here, which are Grape and Light Blue. There is a 24 pen pack that's also available at the store. A retractable pen with newly developed "Juice" ink for a juicy, smooth writing experience! 24 bright colours with remarkable durability in water and light! A durable lift-clip which can hold tight thanks to the coil spring equipped inside. I got these 2 from the Sandton Stationery & Print shop to do the video. Stationery Review 228 - Pilot Vpen Fountain Pen (M) ZAR 80

Hi Friends, 

Pilot Vpen is a disposable fountain pen that comes in various colours of ink. The pen is filled with ink in its barrel and has a huge ink capacity. This one lasts longer than any other fountain pen, as the ink capacity is definitely between 3.5 to 5ml at least. These pens are available at Sandton Stationery & Print Shop in Sandton City Mall. These are priced at around ZAR 80, and you can get them for around ZAR 65. Check them out! These were provided to us by Sandton Stationery & Print for this video so many thanks to them for the same. 

The Pilot sells these pens as disposable fountain pens, but if you have the tools and the inks, then you can experiment by taking out the feed mechanism and filling the ink tank again. It's really easy, but you need the pliers, etc, along with something soft to not destroy the mechanism. I have done it before and will showcase to you as well on these pens soon enough.

Stationery Review 227 - Endless Phantom Retractable Fountain Pen (EF) USD 40

Hi Friends, 

I bought this Endless Phantom Retractable Fountain Pen in EF nib using a Kickstarter campaign, and I was the 17th one when the orders opened. Check it out!

 

Endless is a brand from Madras (now Chennai) in India. They create Journals and pen cases along with a lot of inks and sometimes fountain pens. This is their second or third pen, and this was on Kickstarter with people supporting them with overflowing orders. I, too, was really excited to order one for myself. 

I really love the design of the pen; the glossy black body looks great. The pen has a perfect weight and balance in your hands. The nib comes out nicely from its shell. The mechanism can take both cartridges and comes packed with an ink converter. I also got Alchemy Candy Sea Ink as part of the initial Kickstarter campaign orders. The packaging of Endless Stationery products is always supreme. I really love their innovative design of the packaging and the products. Be it an ink bottle and its cork stand, and the same was seen for this pen that came in a cork case, which can also work as a pen stand or display. 

My choice of nib was EF (Extra fine), but as and when I filled the ink into the pen, though it writes very thin but the scratch noise is there. It's not as smooth as you will find in the pens from Pilot and Platinum in EF nib. Also, I feel the nib is not getting enough support from the grip section, and it feels like it can break if I push it harder. I am a very soft writer as I don't put pressure on any nib much, but still, I am not confident about the EF nib on this one. Once the other people who have ordered EF nibs get theirs, then the reviews will start pouring in, and I was in the second lot of orders, which were dispatched to an Indian address.

Stationery Review 226 - Platignum Vibe Fountain Pen (M) GBP 10.50

Hi Friends, 

Platignum Vibe fountain pen comes in two colours - white and matte black, and I got both of them. When you have the same kind of pens, you can change the covers according to your preferences, as shown in the video. Check it out!

Platignum Vibe is priced at around GBP 10.50, but if you pay 2.50 pounds more, you can buy a better pen in the form of Platignum Studio. But the size and shape of both the pens are different. Also, the colours Vibe is available in are Matte Black and Matte White, whereas Studio is available in several awesome glossy colours. 

The Platignum Vibe is very similar in body design to the Cross Pens, whereas Platignum Studio is similar to the Pilot Metropolitan Range.
