I bought this Maido in a box, DX volume 19, just because it had a fountain pen named Pilot Kakuno. The price of the box made this deal good, but I could have saved some money if I had bought this pen directly from Sandton Stationery & Print Shop in Sandton City. Check it out!

Pilot Kakuno we have got is a nice fountain pen in a glossy, clear demonstrator version. The same came with a Con-40 ink converter as well in the Maido box. We will be using the converter for the next pen. For this one, I used the normal black ink cartridge that came along with the same as well inside the package.
The pen is really lightweight and made for first-time users or when they want to buy their first fountain pen. It's similar to the Platinum Preppy fountain pen, which is half the price. This is also smaller in size, as showcased in capped and uncapped versions as well. Pilot Kakuno comes in multiple colours and is really popular since its launch date in 2013. Recently, Pilot Pens also launched their new Pilot Kakuno Madoromi series.
As soon as the ink cartridge was inserted into the pen, the beautiful black ink took over, and the pen glided on the paper in the fine nib. Earlier to this pen, I only had a Pilot Metropolitan in Medium nibs which I bought in all five colours; it was available at the Sandton Stationery & Print shop in Sandton City Mall.
